Review - Garnier Ultimate Blends Shampoo

Since the summer my hair has been all over the place. I'm still in the process of lightening it using a few products to get a lighter colour over all but this means my hair is really dry and splitting all over the place.

So I set off to Boots and stocked up on a few different lotions and potions. One of the ones I picked up was the new Ultimate Blends shampoo from Garnier. I picked the Sleek Restorer as it contained coconut oil and cocoa butter to help smooth dry hair.

The smell is amazing, its lovely and coconutty and smells like it should be really nourishing and do wonderful things to my hair but in reality it doesn't live up to the smell!

When I wash my hair with this it feels amazing, really nourishing and my hair feels smooth and silky and looks great whilst its wet but as soon as it starts drying it feels coarse and rough. I can't get it to feel sleek without a serious amount of Morrocan oil or other products which then leave my hair feeling weighed down and rubbish.

Overall its an ok Shampoo, it does the job and cleans my hair but anything more then that it's not one I would pick up again. The only positive I can pull from it is the smell is amazing!

Have you tried any of the ultimate blends range? xx

October To Do list

Another month has come around and it always seems that I never achieve a great deal in the month or it passes by without me documenting what I did and I forget about it. So I want to try and plan out a few things I want to do and blog them as I go.

- Take Ted to the beach.

- Carve a pumpkin

- Make popcorn and hot chocolate

- Drink hot chocolate & marshmallows

- Buy new Yankee Candles for Autumn

- Have a duvet & film day

- Visit Wales - We're heading there for a wedding so might as well enjoy a day out there.

- Go out for tea some where new

- Visit a free place that Ted can also go to

Not very much on the list for this month but I'm sure more things will be added over time. I'm looking forward to getting out and about whilst the weather is still warm, plus I'm looking at starting a Dog Friendly places to visit section on the blog so if you have any suggestions then let me know or if it would be something you would read!

What have you got planned this month? xx

This Week - The Make Up #11

Hello strangers, September hasn't been a good month for blogging but I'm kicking back off with another weekly make up pick.

This week I've picked bits which work with the up and down weather, products that stay in place, add a bit of sun kissed glow as well as being easy to throw on when its dark now in the morning.

For face I've picked Rimmel Stay Matte foundation. I have this little mini to use up and its perfect as it stays in place on the skin all day without being cakey. To warm it up I picked Dallas from Benefit to add some colour without being overly bronzed. On the cheeks I've got the Rimmel Stay Blushed in Pop of Pink.

On the eyes I've picked Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Permenant Taupe to wear on its own or layered under the colours on the Sephora Palette. Liner is the Rimmel Scandaleyes Liner in Bronze. I forgot to take a picture of mascara but I picked Maybelline The Rocket Waterproof.

I've added in the lip product from Benefit, I've had Coralista for ages but always forget about it, if I remember to use it them I will be impressed!

Overall lots of high street picks this week, its nice to pick through more available pieces for every day use and save the more expensive for special occasions for once.

Which of these bits have you used? xx

OPI Nordic Collection A/W '14
L-R - OPI with a Nice Finnish, My Dogsled is a Hybrid, My Voice is a Little Norse
So now I'm back at work, summer is officially over in my mind, I'm turning to Autumn which is my favourite season, I'm not a bright colour person so the darker colours suit me down to the ground. When the pictures of the Nordic collection from OPI started floating around on blogs I knew I had to have them all and my lovely friend in America sent me the whole collection.

The Nordic Collection is made up of 9 creme, 2 shimmers and 1 glitter, with a colour for every skin tone and Autumn outfit.

All of the polishes apply really well, with 2  coats needed for most, only OPI with a nice Finnish needed 3 but thats because its a metallic creme and dragging does occur slightly.

My favourite colours in the collection are Viking in a Vinter Vonderland because its a gorgeous deep purple and Can't aFjord it because its a really autumnal colour as the leaves start changing colour.

Overall its a gorgeous collection of colours and I will get a lot of use out of this one. If you want to pick it up you can pop over the Lena White where bottles are £11.95.

Which is your favourite colour of the collection? xx
